Visual Simulation: application to monofocal intraocular lens analysis

چکیده
It is necessary to introduce some optical concepts before discuss about the different applications of adaptive optics (AO) in human vision. Wave aberration1 is defined as the difference between the perfect (spherical) and the actual wavefront (WF) for each point over the pupil. Figure 1 shows this concept schematically. AO may be defined as an optical system which adapts to compensate aberrations which are induced by the medium between the object and the image.

Comparison between OPD-Scan results and visual outcomes of monofocal and multifocal intraocular lenses.
PURPOSE To compare the visual outcome, contrast sensitivity and wavefront analysis of patients that underwent cataract surgery and implantation of AcrySof SN60D3 multifocal intraocular lens with those who received the AcrySof SN60AT monofocal IOL. METHODS This was a prospective clinical trial of forty eyes that received the multifocal IOL and thirty-two eyes that received the monofocal IOL af...

BACKGROUND To compare near, intermediate, and distance vision, and quality of vision using appropriate subjective questionnaires, when monofocal or apodized diffractive multifocal intraocular lenses (IOLs) are binocularly implanted. METHODS Patients with different binocular IOLs implanted were recruited after surgery and had their visual acuity tested, and quality of vision evaluated, at a si...
متن کاملVisual performance of Acrysof ReSTOR compared with a monofocal intraocular lens following implantation in cataract surgery
The aim of this study was to compare the visual performance of Acrysof ReSTOR and Acrysof Natural intraocular lenses (IOLs) following cataract surgery. A randomized prospective study was performed in which 64 eyes (51 patients) were divided randomly into two groups. Monofocal IOLs (Acrysof Natural) were implanted into 34 eyes (27 patients) and multifocal IOLs (Acrysof ReSTOR) were implanted int...
متن کاملComparison of Visual Performance of Multifocal Intraocular Lenses with Same Material Monofocal Intraocular Lenses
PURPOSE To compare the visual performance of multifocal intraocular lenses (IOLs) and monofocal IOLs made of the same material. METHODS The subjects included patients implanted with either Tecnis® monofocal IOLs (ZA9003 or ZCB00) or Tecnis® multifocal IOLs (ZMA00 or ZMB00) bilaterally. We conducted a retrospective study comparing the two types of IOLs. The multifocal group included 46 patient...

PURPOSE To compare the rotational stability, total misalignment, and visual and refractive outcomes achieved with a trifocal toric versus a monofocal toric intraocular lens (IOL). METHODS In this prospective, interventional case series, eyes of patients consecutively scheduled for cataract surgery who had clinically relevant astigmatism were implanted with a FineVision Pod FT trifocal toric I...
